Just wanted to echo what a lot of others are sayin; -big props to Wade for throwing the festival together and a big thanks to all the generous sponsors (I walked away with a brand new splitty, binders & skins!!).
I've never rode with so many splitters and considering we all share the same passion, it was real easy to get along.
Oh, and regarding the board length topic, I rode my Khyber 65 traditional camber on Sat and it did very well. I demo'ed the Spearhead 178 (biggest board I've ever ridden) and it was dreamy on the way down. As Dean & James suggested, no matter how hard I pushed down on its massive nose, I could'nt get it to go under. At 178cms, it was suprisingly easy to manover in the trees (probably thanks to the pin tail) but definitely posed some challenges in the kick-turns (i.e. I kept stepping on my tails no matter how far apart I spread my legs, -insert "that's what she said" here ).
I too will try to post some pics but like everyone else, most are from the uptrack since the down part was just too damn good to stop and take pics!

And another look at Cheops and a coulior that might be able to be ripped....have to study the topo maps to see how steep that one is but that is pretty much a no fall, no turn, straightline bomber line....insane...but has probably already been done.
This line is so much fun to look at, definitely one of the highlights of climbing up Grizzly Shoulder. I think it is called Cheops 1. Near the top where the line gets really skinny and goes right is stupid steep. Myself and another selkirks local splitboarder rode that line top to bottom last February in very low viz conditions. I don't know if anybody has done it on a splitboard before but I am sure it's been skied at least once before.
There sure is plenty of fun to be had in Rogers pass.

Split fest was awesome! Thanks Wade and sponsors for hooking shit up! Looking forward to next year, assuming there will be a next year based on this years success.
Ended up riding three days. Day one with Adam, Dave, Gary and Ava, West Kootenays represent! We headed up Flat creek to Fortitude ridge. We came down this cool chunky waterfall area in the background. Raisin the roof! Here is a pic of our line. We summited this bump, rode back down the ridge to the trees, and descended the trees lookers right of the avy path. Day two was a suffer fest. Dave, Adam and myself headed up to Christiana Trees. We encountered up to waist deep trail breaking. Made very little upward progress, and ended up riding a pitch that was simply not steep enough for the amount of snow that weekend. Got a good look at the gun-barrel chutes though. Bloody deep! This right about when we ran out of upward options. It was steep, stupid deep, with trees and cliffs blocking any good way up. I tried to cut across below a large pillow, above a tree well. I ended up breaking through into a moat at the base of the boulder. I was buried up to my armpit with skis fully buried in dense snow. It took many expletives and several minutes to free myself enough to roll into the tree well! We turned around shortly after.
Day three made up for the previous days staunch. Adam, Dave, Isabelle and I went up McGill Shoulder, followed a nice uptrack, and slayed the lookers left-hand barrel chute. Sick!
Here is a pic of Dave right before he blasted me with a wall of snow. Adam, always the gentleman, turned away from me, making a better pic. Isabelle shreddin. Did anybody see their board this weekend? I sure didn`t! A beautiful sight. Three out of four of us all managed to ride off a log into a giant chasm of downed trees and basically landed on each other. With much yelling we managed to warn Dave and he stopped in time to miss the doggy pile. We them proceeded to build a jump over the chasm and blasted a few good airs. Still waiting on Dave to post the pics! Here is a pic of my trusty steeds. The Blue Beast, and my 2010-159cm Elan DIY split. This board was way to small for 3 ft of Rogers Pass blower. Gonna build a beats for next season! Back to reality, work awaits.Till next time.
