Nice one Gnubbs.

I will be out this weekend again on the board. Just fitted a new pair of Cartels to mimic my resort board (T6) to help transition to the Khyber.

I have been out a few times already wih a pack on just skinning up to the area near Skoki Lodge (Lake Louise area). Amazing the difference the pack makes with just a little bit of equipment in it!!! Hoping to get some resort turns in this weekend in a couple of more secluded spots as the snow has been pretty good in my area over the past week or so.

Thanks for coming back to me. I will let you know how things go on.

Cheers,

KAV

I know there's a lot of flat / low angle aproach ... would be curious to hear how this feel to ride that area on a Split .... ! are you going with Telemarkers / AT skiers or Splitters only ?... Hey Lachance:

The trip is one organised by the local Uni. They do one each weekend for the next couple of months ( Observation Peak, Storm Mountain etc). It's a good oportunity for somebody like me to get out as I am new to the country (moved from England about 2 years ago) and do not have any split partners.

I will let you know how it goes. I did my RAC and ARAC courses with them last year and it was well organised. The course was predominantly telemarkers and AT.

If you fancy getting out with a newbie at some point give me a shout. As said I have very little experience (one week long trip and a few additional days ) but I have done my courses and have all the required kit and gizmo's. I'm hoping to get more involved this year and would like to get out as much as possible.

Any tips on places I should take a look at would be appreciated.

Have you had contact with many Splitters in the area yourself???

Cheers,

KAV.......
