I just noticed on the website that they plan on installing a new tram in 08. A little Disneyish. That leaves one season to go split up Rendezvous and get some soft stuff. And a lot less tracks in Corbet's as well. As if its lacking in badass terrain though.

There will not be any less traffic up there due to the fact that JHMR is putting in a chair from Sublette to the top of the mountain unfortunately. If anything, I bet it gets tracked out a bit more this year...

Doh! Yeah,I remember reading that somewhere this past season. I never heard anything else bout it and just figured they wouldn't bother with stringin a little lift up there just for one season. Or is it permanent?

The lift to the top is temporary until the tram is done. Apparently, the lift will withstand some strong winds. I don't know though. Many of the upper lifts (including the tram) closedown frequently due to wind. During those closures will be the time to get to the goods on the splitty's though.

You guys must not get winds like we do in Maine and New Hampshire...

In all seriousness, though, we get really bad windslabs on our above-treeline slopes. Wouldn't that be a concern if the wind is bad enough to close down the lifts?

Depends on the wind direction. It could load up a slope, or it could remove all the snow

Either of which make it a prime target for splitting! :) (sorry, couldn't resist...)
