So summer is taking to long already and I am starting to toss around some ideas for a big trip next winter. All I know is I want something that will kinda push my limits, get me pretty far away from people, and a time frame of 10-14 days. A couple of big changes in my life have made me start thinking about a trip like this(as well as allowed for the possibility). The bitterroots are just one options, but the high peaks and the fact I could get away from sleds are appealing(nothing against them, but if I'm 5 days into a trip I don't want to run into someone who just took a day to get there). I was just putting this out there to try and gather any info on the range and to give myself lots of time to make this happen(and you guys can nag me to make it happen ). Anyways, like I said the heat is getting to me and all I can think of is snow. Oh and time of season is dependent on BH since he will be in school this year. Also if they aren't completely on fire I can start doing some hiking recon before the snow flies.

If you want to do an extended trip like that 1 option might be the Cont. Divide from Lincoln to Marias Pass. Has to be lots of good terrain & never done lines in that stretch if the snow is good there. You'd be consistently in the Scapegoat/Bob/Great Bear wilderness all the way.
