I decided to start shooting Peruvian wildflowers during my recent trip. I had no idea they would be so plentiful...

Cactus Flower.
Image

I think this flower is the region's symbol.
Image

Image

Another cactus.
Image

There were orchids everywhere.
Image

And a million other little wildflowers.
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

I have no idea what some of these things are...
Image

Purple.
Image

Image

Wild orchids are rad.
Image

These were big flowers on a tree.
Image

These were at around 12,000 feet or so.
Image

Image

Image

Image

Image

More orchids.
Image

Image

I think these were germaniums or something. Could that be true?
Image

I love this one.
Image

More.

Image

Image

Image

Yeah. I took a lot of flower pictures.
Image

Image

These are from a more jungly region.

My very favorites... Wild Roses.

These flowers...

Have this view...

More jungle flowers.

I have more coming if you can possibly stand it. I ran out of batteries before we reached the final destination. The wife was a little pissed about that. But there were a million cameras on the trip and I was able to depend on the kindness of others.

Thanks you for your patience. The Andes rule. Here's a bonus hippie shot.

Stumbling in, middle of the summer to discover others interested in wildflowers? Great pics.
A little tardy, some from the Wasatch.
A few sego lilies,

Image

Utah state flower,

Image

usually found in spring,

Image

in the foothills surrounding the lower elevation valleys,

Image

but I found a few later at mid elevations.

Image

Mid elevations and above, especially on the shady side have an abundance of Colorada columbines,

Image

state flower of Colorado.

Image

Haven't seen any of the red ones, apparently common in Cali,

Image

ours are mostly white,

Image

with yellows

Image

and blue-purple tints scattered.

Image

Bugs like um.

Image

Image

Image

Bouquets.

Image

Image

Slow going with a dial up. I"ll add some variety and an old hippie chic?, later.

Wull, I got a bit sidetracked by goats but, here's an old hippie chic,

standing in a faded field of flowers, checking the view of Lone, Big Horn, Chipman and Pfeifferhorn, all ridable in winter.
Flowers in Albion basin at Alta with the castle in the background.

Bee on a thistle.

A swallowtail on bear tongue.

Sticky geranium

Image

Lupine

Showy daisies

Another wild holly hock oughta finish,

Image

I got more but,
When's it gonna snow?
