Jslam: Hey thanks for the post. I am stoked to hear about your acomplishments on your board as well, I had know idea that the ministry's walls had also been kicked over. To answer your question it was the assistant ski guide, and I will not wait to long to do the full, but it could take another couple time's to pass that one. If your ever in Revy drop me a line.

I'm currently in school in a 'Guide' program as a splitboarder... they definitely discourage splitboarding for the course but this is definitely a great boost of confidence :) I just gotback from a trip on the Wapta, and not once did I feel at a disadvantage (except the shitty sidehill traverse out)... still need to dial my system but that'll come.

I, however, still think it is a great idea to be able to guide in both mediums for client care reasons...

whether or not I go on to become a guide, I think this is a great breakthrough... thanks for opening the door!

I'm guessing there is a lot of downhilling in tour mode, do you ski with a telemark style or otherwise?

It is now common to get certified on a split?

Yet to be done here in Norway (IVBV/IFMGA)...they appear very stuck on traditional rando and backcountry skiing, although the splitboard (and AT in general) market is rapidly growing.

What is the development on this in the alps? Germany, France, Italy, etc.? I certainly see guides on boards in Chamonix, but do they qualift on skiis.
