cross post from ttips:

The Sierra Avalanche Center has been providing daily avalanche forecasts for backcountry enthusiasts from Yuba Pass down to Sonora Pass all season long and is now ready to celebrate a safe and snowy season at Sugar Bowl on March 26 and Homewood on April 2. A generous donation from Sugar Bowl and Homewood will allow the Sierra Avalanche Center to host their next Support the SAC: Ski/Ride Days, offering half-priced tickets, gear demos, live music and plenty of swag to event attendees. Tickets are on sale for $23 for Sugar Bowl and $22 for Homewood at: The Backcountry in Truckee and Tahoe City, Patagonia Outlet Reno, REI Reno, Porters in Incline Village, Mountain Recreation in Grass Valley, Sierra Snowboard in Sacramento and Patagonia San Francisco.

Grab your friends and family for the Support the SAC: Ski/ Ride Day at Sugar Bowl and expect a day of more than great skiing and riding. Karhu Skis will also be on-site, giving free demos of their telemark skis and bindings, with Clif Bar providing the fuel to keep skiers and riders on the slopes all day long. Live music from Chalice will keep the atmosphere festive on the new Mount Judah Lodge deck as guests celebrate another great season both on and off-piste.

Only 500 tickets for Sugar Bowl, and only 250 for Homewood, will be sold and so those looking for a great deal and a great cause should act fast before they are sold out.

I'll be there with the Mrs. :)

bump...

Homewood this Sunday...amazing views, funky resort, good cause.

Spending some time in the Wasatch this winter exposed me to their incredible website and avi resources. It sure would be nice to have similarly funded centers here in the Sierras.

First time I've bought an actual lift ticket in years...

PJ, not sure about Quail's Face. I haven't ridden there in about five years, but I will check it out on Sunday.

Also, If you can't make it to Homewood, you can always just throw $25 their way by donating through the paypal link on their website:

Wouldn't it be nice to have this?
