Just wanted to know how the TSA is going to react when I walk into Lindberg Field with an Ice axe, crampons , transciever and my GPS. I just spoke to them over the phone and the lady says to check the pack with axe and crampons inside, wrap any shap edges and carry on the electronics. That sound right ? Anyone had any problems with taking these items on a plane? I need to know , CAUSE I GO TO WYOMING NEXT THURSDAY !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
One thing that can hang you up even if checked is fuel for your stove. Axe and crampons no problem. Also, I generally put my pack into a large canvas bag - allows you to ship stuff that wont fit in pack and keeps straps, etc from getting caught on stuff/limits possibility that pack will open.

hey, if you need a partner for any of the teton pass area backcountry around jacksaon hole, send me a pm. i ride usually 4 days a week, and don't mind shwoing someone around. i'll def have a split too, i imagine you are bringing one? i would think it would be worth it to throw the beck and kit in with your other board and just swap one set of bindings. a split board is key here though...makes access much faster.
