 Post subject: burton risiers, bent and not staying down?!?!

my burton split has a bent riser and doesn't want to stay down now. anyone have a burton with the similar problem? just looking for some advice on how to fix it.

Are you sure it's not staying down because its bent? I've had issues with it not staying down because the plastic piece that holds the climbing bar on keeps wearing down on the corners where the bar hits it. If this is the case, try to weasel some replacements from Burton (they don't have this part available by itself, you need a whole new interface and they'll likely try to charge you $40 per interface) I've been thinking that a replacement could be made out of metal, as this is the weakest part of the interface and the source of most of my frustrations with the Burton setup. If it actually is a bent bar, you could probably find something at the hardware store.

you might find replacements where you bought it. ive got lots of extras, but don't break them as often. i use a rubber band attached from the nylon loop on the lever, tied off to the riser in up position. the risers will last much longer, as well as not collapsing on you
.this riser problem gets much worse as the plates get worn and sloppy

Gotta love the rubberband fix. I've had to use this a few times and always keep one in my pack, but I wouldn't want to use this on a regular basis.
