Well, we've already gone through about 5 contingency plans for trips this week and the next. Seems like pretty much the whole western north america is getting screwed by these warm weather systems. Here's the synopsis:
Tahoe - was very warm and wet, possibly snow this week but little base to build on and still will be wet...
Colorado - too flat and too far
Utah - too warm and wet
Washington - ditto - a little hope for later in this week but still relatively high freezing levels
Coastal BC - same story
Interior BC - serious slabs on top of weak facets and funky layers
Montana - was too warm and wet, though stable - any info on Cooke City now?
Idaho - same
Jackson - did get warm and wet, but will cool down - expecting snow this week but will probably be low visiblity for the whole time
Any ideas on where to go to get reasonable conditions? Some serious multi-day trips were in the works, but they've all been quashed. All info is appreciated, since it is difficult to be totally on top of weather for the entire western region.

the weather report is calling for 1.5 - 3 feet of snow here at tahoe. hopefully not heavy wet snow either, the snow level is supposed to drop down to 5k feet so it should be quality snow higher up. there's more expected later in the week and into next weekend according to the 10 day forecast (how much can you believe that?).

Nomad- Might possibly be heading down to the tetons to meet up with BH by the end of the week.
Louis- Bh and I are definetly gonna be back down and I think nomad plans on it also. We are probably gonna hit up teton pass on our way to togwotee again so if you wanna act the tour guide we should hook up.
Oh yeah, nomad I think I remember you mentioning something about getting sick of riding the nice snow we had Damn rain sucks.
nomad and i came close to driving down to tahoe for the new year, but the weather didnt look promising then. i will hopefully be down there in the spring and be looking for some partners...
