Man, this really sucks. As said above Wade was a guy who cared about His community both in the mountains and His home. Sorry for His Children and family left behind, but He was a great individual who lived life to the fullest but always seemed to have time for any question I sent Him and always put stoke on this board with His multiple tree laps making me drool with envy. Im glad I had the pleasure of Meeting you Wade.

This is terrible news. I only met Wade a few times but I was always jealous how much energy and commitment he brought with him. My deepest condolences go out to Wade's family and friends.

I read Wade's blog, and was always stoked to see a TreePilot trip report. He always got the stoke up, and you could tell he had a great attitude. He did a lot for splitboarding, and CAC through Canuck Splitfest. I'm sad I didn't get to go up there and meet him in person. He inspired a lot of us, and he will be missed. Thanks Treepilot, and Rest in Peace.

Just stunned. This has been a horrible stretch since February 8th. We have lost 11 quality souls in 10 days. Needless to say this is a highly unusual winter going on. Stick to your safe lines for awhile at least please. There are a lot of people on this forum I would love to get out with at some point. Stick around so I can ride with you.

RIP Treepilot. +++vibes to your friends and family.

RIP fellow shredder. Sad to hear.

This season is turning out to be pretty bad. Kind glad I'm working my ass off and have a bad back so I can't get out right now. Weird.

I used to read Wade's blog every day while I was saving to get my first split. The old posts and the new, again and again. Finally meeting him at the Canuck splitfest a few years ago he turned out to be one of the nicest guys around. A guy who put in the big days in the mountains and had an ego that was non-existant. A true lover of the outdoors, the more you found out about him, the more you wanted to know him and the more you respected what he did. For the city, for the skate community, for the split community and for the avalanche association with the awareness he promoted. What a loss for the Canadian community and the splitboard community in general.

Agreed, Cam. I used to read Wade's blog religiously, and it was an endless source of inspiration and stoke. I may not have known him very well, but through his efforts on the Canuck Splitfest, I met nearly all my splitboarding partners. Wade made the world of splitboarding and the backcountry a better place, and along with Splitboard.com, was one of the first to introduce a real sense of community to splitboarding.

RIP Wade, my thoughts are with your family.

Man this is tough.

As someone said earlier Wade was a pillar in the split community. He'll be greatly missed by many.

RIP Wade.

our online community brings a lot of us together, then it hurts even more when tragedies happen.

I never met Wade but could tell from his posts and TR's that he was the real deal and passionate about splitboarding.

Now go break some bindings for us in the mountains in the sky Treepilot.
