Thinking about a trip down to the Red Mountain pass area in the near future and was hoping to truck camp. Anyone have any beta on where to camp, preferably legally.

Thanks in advance

I don't think you should have any issues as long as you are out of town limits is my understanding. Just don't post up next to the rum bar for a few days, they probably won't like that. I think they are pretty lax, you can be basically anywhere off the road on 550, Cement Creek, or towards Eureka, as long as it is off the road. If you want to make sure you are alright, drive in, find the sheriff and ask him. He'll probably be right in town when you drive in, hard to miss.

If I was to choose a spot with best access, my options would be:
Anvil / Battleship lot, both sides have lots of access
Snowslide gulch - Mineral Creek
Lots of stuff right on Cement creek, bathroom, and booze close by

you can camp in Silverton at the end of town near the park.

You can also pay to camp at Orvis Hot Springs in Ridgeway for pretty cheap and get some relaxation in the hot water. They also have community kitchen and showers!
