Ok gentlemen I am new to the game
i would like to pick the brains of the collective consciousness of this splitboard online community and steepen my learning curve
What advantage will crampons on the split board provide?
what conditions, are they worth the bucks?
They are worth every penny in very firm/icy conditions, especially when traversing. The Sierra spring conditions in the morning before softening is primarily where I use mine. But I don't use them nearly as often since I got wide skins that are cut to the exact size/shape of the boards. Now I find that by the time I need them I just switch into boot crampons and go straight up.
