I researched this extensively for the backpacking season. They were still working out licensing issues so beer wasn't available yet. I wouldn't mind trying it out at some point, but very skeptical about taste. If it was just about getting your buzz on in the BC, I would stick with the hard stuff. It goes a lot further per oz....Plus...Packing in some smart water bottles filled with either your home brew or your favorite local brewery beer straight from the tap is worth every bit of weight if you ask me!!!

Our touring patriarch has the younguns carry the beer and margarita mix. Only once brought beer up myself, and I had just a couple big cans in the pack, gave a bunch to others in the group to take up  Hey, I paid for it, the stronger climbers can at least help carry, right

Most often beer is left in the cars for when we get back, though.

I do carry scotch or similar in a flask on every tour for sure :D

Such a bad idea on so many levels. Whisky or Schnapps for me.

I got to say I would try it. If for no other reason than my curiosity is piqued. Not really convinced it would be good though. This probably means I would try it at home too...

Yeah I cant imagine it would equal real beer in taste but who knows. A small flask is for sure a lot easier. Also having beer with you takes away from the anticipation of a frosty cold one at the truck during the long slog back :guinness:

I would definatly try it. For cabin trips real beers are nice, any canned IPA really (flask as well ).

I have one. Havent tried the beer yet, only soda. Its kinda a pain in the butt, but I can see some advantages. Like if you wanted to bring in 12 beers :D . Thats only 1 oz per beer plus the bottle and such.

Unfortunately they didnt do their homework on shipping regulations. Currently the only shop selling the beer gu is in Colorado Springs. And shipping is ridiculous due to laws and UPS booze shipping surcharges. So I will have to wait until I head down there to buy in person to actually taste it.

Hut trips I have been known to carry a 12 pack in my backpack before, its kinda heavy. But whiskey just doesnt hit the spot after a day of touring like a beer, or 4.

Ill report back after I've tried the beer.

I don't mix drinking and riding, unless I'm doing an overnighter. I've found wine to be a good compromise between beer and liquor, but I'd give this stuff a shot. If I really want some beers, I can just wait until my partner isn't looking and throw them in his pack :guinness:

Oh like when I thought it would be awesome and somehow convinced you and Bonez that carrying 18!!! beers in a single backback up some ridiculous shlog was a good idea....

Sure tasted good though... :guinness: Splitbooting always causes a thirst for a shitload of beers
