Last year's event was a blast. Hopefully some members of this site have some great edits to submit.
The Second Annual Friends of Berthoud Pass Amateur Film Festival presented by Wilderness Exchange Unlimited, 2401 15th St, Denver Thursday, April 4th 2013, 8:00 pm
This concept originated last spring when we came up with the idea of getting local skiers and riders together to highlight their best homegrown edits and share some laughs. We assembled a series of short (three to five minute) videos and capped off the evening with Kyle Miler’s documentary. The event was a raging success. We packed the house, raised awareness and some funds for our grassroots avalanche education program and everyone had a blast.
We’re expecting this FREE event to be as great as the first one. We have several sponsors on-board who’ve donated items for a raffle and Upslope will provide the beer. The winning film takes home “Best of the Fest” bragging rights as well as a GoPro Hero 2 camera. There will be a raffle with lots of great prizes for the “Rest of the Best” including items from BCA, Fly Low, Wilderness Exchange Unlimited and many others.
Send your best edits to hans@berthoudpass.org no later than March 30, 2013. There is a strict limit of five minutes per entry. Please keep your content snow-related (skiing, boarding, sledding, ice climbing, etc) Submit as many entries as you like. Festival producers will select 10-12 contestants. Winner of “Best of the Fest” will be chosen by audience applause. Our judging panel reserves the right to call the winning entry in the case of a draw. Or maybe they’ll settle it with Rochambeau– it’s kind of up to them. Contact us with any questions. Otherwise get your junkshow together and show us what ya got.
