It's not exactly the same, the new Deeluxe summit includes a Boa system that only works in your ankle, while the rest of the boot has the deeluxe fast lace system. So you have many different options of getting your boot loose: upper part, lower part, ankle with the boa system.

I like to have my boots tighten even all day while touring, because as you say, sidehilling it's completely necessary, but using this boa system to have your ankle in place while the rest of the boot is more loose is a good improvement for a softboot, allowing a better touring performance.

Yeah the soft tail seems to be the only thing that doesn't make sense on a board with the XV stamp on it. I guess board sales will get a lot better if they take what everyone likes about the experience and make it in an everyman option. but i thought thats what the krypto was for.

As for the boa system in the summit, this isn't a new idea. Deeluxe has already been doing it with the vicious along with a speedlace style system with their soft boot the brisse. I don't know if touring with the other laces completely loose is exactly the best idea, but the boa focus really does keep your heellift to a minimum.
