I've beed asking/dreaming of this for close to 10 years, K2 finally did it (although I'm sure they will say they thought of it on their own). May just be a proto....I'll let you know if I get any concrete info.

I believe Burton came out with the EST channel system in '09/10 (best mounting system hands down) but this is the first I've seen it on a split. I can't wait for this, especially with the Spark Edison.

I don't trust it one bit. I've seen more than one board with the inserts (or whatever it's called on this setup) ripped out. And it wasn't a real big dude that did it.
Yeah, the Burton EST is far from the best system out there. It works but there are reoccurring problems with it I have seen over and over and over. More to do with the bindings than the channels though there is some weirdness there too.

yea, i kinda see this as trying to solve a problem where one doesn't really exist.
i suppose rental shops might see some value in it but how small must that market be?
farbeit for me to be stifling "innovation"(?) but its a backcountry tool - it should be bomber first; slick, shiny, lightweight and convenient third. (bomber is also second)
so for continuing to try new stuff for split tech, for would i buy one.
