Here is a great website for checking the conditions around mammoth. This guy gives a very fair ski report and Some of His photos show areas around town and the crest. Good reference material for BC conditions

plateau chutes looked OK on monday, but it is the approach. no snow lower down. v bowl had a little bit of snow about 1/3 of the way down. if you want to hike up and down half the mountain, then i'm sure the runout from the chutes are minefields
actually, from a distance twinlakes area looked better
My buddy and I headed out to Red Cone Yesterday, super creamy snow up top, skied about 6-8inches, then a little heavier wet snow down low but still edge-able and super fun. We road right out on to Horse Shoe lake to end our tour. Pretty good out there right now, so go get some...
Lap 1
The competition
Jaws anyone?
Lap 2
Down low

So, yeah, powderjunkie called it. Dana isn't quite ready yet at least top to bottom. Powerhouse was also dry for the first 1000 vertical feet.
Audibled to the obvious stuff on the Crest, which was surprisingly good. Boot deep wintery snow. It did get windy as all hell in the late afternoon though.

So my BC partner and I decided that we were going to skin from Mammoth to June via the San Joaquin Ridge and descend the Negatives. Seemed like a good idea....HA-ha
To the ridge...
God damn the Sierra is scenic!
A little pole whacking for good measure
camp
Heady Topper for a night cap
Not too cold in the morning for December @ 11k
Some 40mph wind to make our day just right
Some billy goatin
FINALLY, we made a turn!
Wind slabs everywhere
In Yost Meadow, alive.
Made it to June just in time for sunset and the next storm cycle. Great trip, can’t wait for the TR...

Everyone, meet Max. I can vouch for him. He's a safety first kinda dude...and he is living in June. He's always looking for partners. Hit him up. Can't wait for the TR myself Max. You better save me an HT!
I'll be up there the 21st or so and through Christmas.
