Any shops in California ( Tahoe, Mammoth) where somebody can shop for a pair of boots and actually see brands like the K2, Ride, Deelux driverx and malamute all in one place? Im thinking maybe the Backcountry in Truckee. I need some boots and Im so confused. I need to lay hands on them before I buy

Wave Rave usually has most of the higher end gear on the shelves. I'm sure betweeen there and another store in Mammoth they would have most of the '13 gear.

Although, please don't let me rule you out of driving US to Tahoe buddy!

So backcountry is only really going to the deluxe boots. Porters is going to have the driver x and the t1. Not sure if anyone is going to have ride in the basin. Maybe try Dave's for the malamute. I would say that wave rave is going to be the best one stop shop.

keep up the good tips guys. I may just have to drive up this weekend and "boot shop" . Of course, thats after dark. daylight will be for riding or dodging the wind/snow

but, Tex has a sore back and the surf is supposed to be BIG too.

To riding this weekend I would say go to mammoth too. This store system has pretty high snow levels and we will see much more rain then snow here in tahoe for most of this storm.
