NOLS has been running splitboarding courses for quite a few years. Often, the roster of students consists of mostly late teens/early 20s, and one 35 yr old. It always works out, but it's maybe not the experience that the 35 yr old came for. I've been advocating for a course specifically for older students for a long time, and it's finally happening this year. The 23+ splitboard couse is modeled after the 23+ ski course, where you spend a few days at the NOLS branch prepping, spend a couple nights in a yurt in the backcountry, then do some snow camping for 6 days or so.
This is another cool addition to all the opportunities that splitboarders have these days. It's been slow to fill, so I'm really hoping that it runs this year. If it doesn't, I don't think NOLS would offer something like this again for awhile.
And, although I work for NOLS, I'm not benefitting from attracting students. I just want to make this course happen, because I think there's people out there who'd be stoked on it!
