It's snowing pretty good in Pittsfield right now.

I tried my splitboard out today around my house. It was nice until i put a nice long scratch in the base.

I picked up a place in Burke, VT over the summer. I was there snowboarding the mountain all Christmas week and watched with glee as the area filled with snow. Is there any splitting around Burke? I've never splitted before so it wouldn't have to be anything great at 1st. I'm dying to get out there and try my hand at this.

I haves nice snow pack of over 2 feet. I just need my skins.

I skinned up a few times during the last 2 weeks of December. A few dirty looks from people in the gondola line was all I got One guy on a sled gave me some good info, a lift mech asked how I got up there another time but all in all pretty cool.

They don't have an official uphill policy yet, but a few of the tele guys have been meeting with K management to try to create one. Check in with the folks in Basecamp at the bottom of the access road, they are pretty in tune with what's going on. For now, make sure you have a headlamp so they can see you, stick to the sides of the trails, when you hear a groomer or sled coming, step well into the woods to be out of the way (they come up fast and don't expect you to be there).
