2007 Tioga Pass splitparty
April 20 2007 ( 4/20)
I had gone up to TPR once before, invited by JimW. and was blown away at the winter scenery. To return the favor I decided to host my first split party. Tioga Pass Resort sits at 9614 feet roughly at the eastern edge of yosemite national park. It provides a warm meal, hot shower, comfy bed, fireplace and ...some of the best terrain you can imagine. TPR as it was called had a permit to operate all winter long back then. they would come down to the locked gate and carry your gear up Highway 120 to the lodge. It was up to you to get yourself up. They did however provide a ride to the snow line where ever that might be. On this particular trip we got taken up in a Ford F-350 with Matt tracks

He's SteveP on the forumz. Haven't heard much from him since he moved to Colorado a couple years back. Maybe he's hardbootin with barrows.
Oh, and I don't know anything about that disco ball. Except for that there are unconfirmed rumors that it may or may not be in a box in my van ready to bust out at the next eastside splitfest, and it may or may not have had anything to do with that being the last weekend that TPR was open for winter business...
