IT WAS SICK! :thatrocks:

The future of splitboarding is NOW!

JJ and crew killed it and the movie was very entertaining/inspiring. There's no question the effect and influence JJ has had on our sport. I think it will be quite a while before anyone else ever comes close. Congrats to everyone involved with the film!

Special thanks to TGR and filmtour for the special treatment too. My son and I felt pretty dang cool rolling up to the VIP line.

Skyler even got into the after party haha. :guinness:

Check the sb.com facebook and instagram pages for a few pics.

GO SEE THIS FILM!

Zero....hence the name Further. ;)

Sorry eco...you know I kid.

But yeah, the locations were Japan, Norway, Austria, Alaska and a small section from Mt Shasta.

The ad says California so I just assumed Tahoe. Then again, after remembering last winter, I'm not surprised.

What happened to the Eastside stuff? They had Dana in the trailer, and I know JJ banged out 3P, Coke, and Ellery on the Sunday of Memorial Day Weekend 2011

I guess they didn't show the Jimmy Chin almost getting pummeled footage huh?

Oh yeah, and I forgot to mention that there will definitely be tailgate action before the late show in SF tonight, probably starting around 7:30 PM. Come say hello and have a beer. Look for the multi-colored stickered up Subie!

Meeting SF and PJ there tonight, but for the early show. Find me if you want to see a Fitwell boot. :)

Dude, BCR you were at the Tahoe premier? How did I miss among the other thousands of people?!? :)

Yeah, it was a really cool show. I had no idea it was going to be such a big event. I had a great time hanging out with Chad and family from Jones, and was also suprised to run into Bryce (from Karakoram) and his wife, we had a great time hanging at the afterparty and chatting about new splitboard technology. It's an exciting time for splitboarding!

Jones had a tent there with all the new boards on display. They are sick. Production is no longer by Nidecker, it's now happening at a factory in Austria, and the overall build quality and quality control has apparently gone way up. The boards certainly look it.

The film itself was great. Of course there was great riding and fantastic locations that are not easy to get to. Fans of Verts will be stoked to see lots of footage of them climbing some STEEP stuff on Verts. Actually those of us that use them will be bummed, now the secret weapon is out of the bag. :) Incidentally JJ was using Verts modded with the Karakoram attachment system recently posted.

It was nice to see all aspects of backcountry snowboarding on display. It's not all bluebird days with awesome pow runs! There was sobering footage of an avy in Austria, and getting lost in the cold and dark trying to find a hut in a whiteout. At one point they are climbing a super-steep sketch run in AK, and Lucas Debari bails and decides to bootpack back down. We have all been in that situation I'm sure, and it's good to see pros listening to their inner voice and backing down when it doesn't feel right.

One of my favorite sections was the one with Terje. Very cool to see him trying something new, and still killing it with style.

Here's a few pics (not so great quality from the point-and-shoot at night...).

They had "Jeremey Jones Further" projected up onto the cliff below the tram. Pretty cool!

The show was outside by the KT-22 lift, and they had a huge screen set up with projection from behind the screen.

Here's the screen from behind, showing the crowd:

And up front:

Picked up a sweet signed copy of an awesome Dan Milner photo in the POW silent auction of JJ riding one of about a million awesome chutes in Svalbard. Bryce also got a nice one from AK I believe. Hardly anyone was bidding on stuff, so it turned out to be a nice deal. But it was still a sizeable donation to POW... I figure it's like buying some carbon offset credits for the van. :) Here's the photo (cute doggie not included):
