To kick off my 30th year of snowboarding I thought I would try to get a day in each month of the year. Not the easiest thing to achieve in Colorado, especially this year. Thankfully CP and the Flattops kept it going through June but July and August had to get done at St. Marys. For those of you familiar with this particular chunk of dirty snow you know it's not glorious at all. :banghead:
Wondering how many of you guys do the same thing? Whats your summer conditions?

Today is the September day, and it completes my year long quest.

Congratulations!

I have not done anything like it myself but now when you gave me the idea I might.
I have been snowboarding for 16 years now. This upcoming season will be the 17th.
Maybe a 20th year anniversary?

I'm headed to Rainier this in 20 minutes to squeeze in month 11. I moved to the pacific north west a year ago this month, and people up here are all about it. You gotta work a little bit, but its pretty awesome to be able to snowboard year round.

I've wanted a split for years, but moving up here it wasn't an option any more. Staring at Rainier every day (that its clear) would have been torture without one.

I have to say after getting it for a full year, then winters about to come it gonna be hard to let the streak die next year, I may be doing this for a while if I stay up here

Last month ended my 22 month streak of being on snow due to a camping incident. I was rather disappointed, but didn't want to try and ride the rocky snow in the middle of the night. Congrats to you for keeping the streak going :thatrocks:

One of my friends who moved up here from SLC a couple years ago has done that for nearly eight years now. Not too terribly difficult here, but you have to hike a good bit in August. Maybe I'll start giving it a try.

August seems like the toughest for me. Never got it, but came absurdly close one year..
Otherwise, a day in september or so and then june/july turns have rounded out most of my past seasons.

Month 11 in the books, suncups the size of bathtubs up high. Still fun though, found some fun snakerun style lines, smoothed out down low. Its good way to stay in shape, hiked and skinned almost 5000 vert. I'm hoping it snows next month or its gonna be pretty rough

Actually feeling pretty proud of myself when I got back to the car yesterday till I met this dude from Boulder who was on his 98th consecutive month. :poke: Now that's some dedication. Crazy telewacker.

Ya a shredder on rainier just ticked off 48.

I think after you get 12, the next 8 or so are pretty much guaranteed up here, it'd be pretty hard to stop after 20 or so consecutive months.

The new Powderwhores movie that premiered last week has a segment on a Utah skier who's up to like 170 consecutive months, including sneaking in some desperate late-September turns on 3 inches of snow-on-rocks at Alta wearing an immobilization brace for his recovering broken neck. 'Don't show this to my 'neurologist,' har! Fun movie by the way, with a good Bob Athey segment, Forrest Shearer, the Provo brothers - props to you guys for stoking us out!

Congrats on linking a full year together!

I've linked together several years while I was in high school and college and almost put together the last 12 months but I decided to go rock climbing and DH bike riding this last weekend instead of finding a snow patch. I long ago decided that if I could do it and it was fun then I'd ride whenever I could but I'm not going to go out of my way to make uncomfortable turns on deep, firm suncups just for a tick mark on the calender. I'd rather take a lighter pack and move faster in the mountains to see more things. That's not a dig against anyone who makes it their goal to ride every month, just sharing my realignment of priorities. It is easier here in the PNW.

I have been doing the "turns most of the year" program haha

I have missed probably 4 months in the last 3 seasons, usually august or Sept most times. I kinda realized that I was just going to say I went snowboarding in the summer more than actually wanting to go hike all day to ride a few hundred vert of suncupped icy or mushy snow haha. This season I rode until it wasn't good snow and called it good, still made it through till august!
