phpBB's search function always frustrates me. It seems like no matter what I try, I either get way too many search results, or no matches. Most of the time I'm really trying to find an exact phrase, rather than a single word, and unless I'm missing something obvious, there is no way to do an exact phrase search with phpBB's search engine.

Well, google to the rescue! Go to www.google.com, and type something like this in the search box:

"saddlebag lake" site:http://splitboard.com/talk/

In this case the search phrase is "saddlebag lake". That will return hits for only those posts that contain that exact phrase. You can do some further refining on the advanced search page, for example restricting it to pages that have changed only in the past year or whatever.

Good stuff JimW!

Agreed, the Pcphabvd ("you know how ta spell it MF'er!") search function sucks.

For all you young bucks, that's a vague eddie murphy reference ;-)
