fck it all they do is hate on splitboards, when really they should just market what they got its probably quite appealing to anyone that dosnt know about splitboards.

They are sad and desperate, looks like alot of money has been spent on the marketing, wait until Deeper comes out this fall and that will be the end of them, unless they manage to get a foot in there, but i doubt it!

Jeez Chris, is that picture really off their facebook? If so, that's f'n pathetic. Just massive manipulation of the ignorant. Yuck. Sort of reminds me of this (though much less serious): http://unofficialnetworks.com/dangerous ... wbe-98574/

I'm pretty sure that Mtn Approach isn't a real product but rather just an elaborate practical joke hatched to annoy the crap out of you guys. I'd just ignore it.

My room mate has spent a few days splitting with his solid board on his back. It's mostly to hit jumps that are close to the parking lot. Any further and he'd leave the split at home and take out the snowmobile. A split is a handy tool for getting to and building a jump but not the best for double corks.
I know most people here aren't going to believe me but some of the guys who make money by hitting big jumps don't like to do it on a splitboard...

So looks like these things are geared toward riders who just want to build kickers with their solid and do quadroople quark tunafish methods. But aren't they the same riders who usually get their gear for free? Lol, I guess they can corner the market on the riders who can do triple corks but aren't sponsored. Genius! Lol that Lassen pic cracks me up. What they don't say is in another 1k feet he's gonna be carrying a pair of skis AND a snowboard on his back

All I was saying is that splitboards, solid boards, skis, and even mountain approach skis are all tools that all have benefits in specific applications (although sometimes I'm generous with that term ) Next year I'm going to try to figure out hardboots because it's going to be a better tool for me if I do more tours like I did this spring.
I'm not the one that brought up the fact that John J used skis to carry his solid board to a kicker. I'm happy for you that you use your split to ride extreme lines in extremely deep wilderness (of San Diego?). I remember when snowboarding was small enough that as long as you were on a snowboard you were automatically part of the community of friends, it's been fun to watch it grow but it's also funny that one niche of snowboarding feels like another niche is doing it so wrong.

So to get back on topic here, this stuff does not look to be marketed as "technical" (or whatever you call it) gear. It is more designed for road tripping and car camping. From their about us page: " It’s stuff that is made for people that have adventures all over the world while wearing jeans, a t-shirt, and sneakers. It’s for people that wonder why everyone is trying to pretend they are going to do first ascents on alpine peaks instead of celebrating the fact that they are having adventures that are awesome in their own way". I mean, do pro skaters really need a 300 dollar four season tent? Although I think that $130 for that sleeping bag/snugee that is only rated to 50 degrees is a bit of a rip off.
