Hi Slim
So far we a re keeping it open, happening sometime between Mid-june to Mid-july. It will be based on when the road to the Brewer trailhead melts out. We are shying away from the 4th of july but with it being Mid-wek I dont know how that will come into play. I email Robin ( telewoman on TTips.com ) , she lives up there and knows the road situation. She said its a typical year so most likely first part of July
I realize thats tough on buying airfare but as soon as we know we will post up and I will email you. You could fly into San Fransico and ride 5 hours north ( plenty of carpools) or Portland and go south 9 should be somebody to give you a ride )
If you dont want a long drive and have more cash, Redding California is the closest. Sacramento is also do-able with a bit less of a drive from SF but not much
Also, we wont be doing the standard avalanche gulch route but the Hotlum-Winton route. Pretty straitforward. But, if you are a climber and need more "spice' you can drift about 1/2 mile to the left and do the Hotlum glacier. That will require full Glacier travel protocall. With crevases and seracs and ice falls
For the hell of it i checked flights for fri june 29 a rrival and tues july 2nd depart comes in around 600 bucks i will assume with gear over to SFO. Ill keep tabs on this thread, see if i can get a couple cats up here interested as well hten hopefully make it happen. When you have the dates figured i will let you know asap. Plan would be not bring any thing to serious and just rip er up with the main party

Unless the timing works out terribly I'll be driving up from Berkeley (which is bartable from the airport). Happy to take a crew up in my Jeep. Room for 3 passengers and gear. For those flying in, get in touch when dates are set.

Medford is by far going to be the cheaper airport option for people looking. It's much bigger and has way more flights coming and going then Redding. Shasta is roughly 1 1/4 hours from either place, though if one was 10 minutes longer it's probably medford.
I may be at my Ashland office during that time (since no date has been set I can't promise yet), and if so, I could easily pick somebody up at the Medford Airport and take them down.

More stoke as the corn fest goes on. We rode West Face: 4000 feet of fun! Great weekend in Hidden Valley. Awesome sunset. Middle pic shows the cloud top that locked the summit up but made for a great sunset.
