Tex - the Wasatch is dismal  right now with little precip in sight. Seems as though the PNW is the place to be right now...
Hopefully things will turn around over the next couple of weeks... Stay tuned

Doors open if you wanna jet this way Tex. My girl is going out of town and
Splitrippin' is gonna be here on the 8th. Come for the pow-wow!

I could be wrong....for what it's worth, we have a snow pack, but the pow cycles are on hold for a bit. I am sure there is plenty to sniff out in the alpine.

maybe it is going to be better down by shasta and up north somewhere. current energy is being deflected in either direction.

Tex strap yer fancy Cali ass and gear onto that fakkin mini chopper, and hit the "giv 'er" button.

I hear ya on the antsy pants for pow.... big reason why I told myself I'm starting the trips early this year. Plus, I hear Ale has beer up in them thar parts, and I've never split the PN-W's.

tex, aksltxlt ain't kidding. there's a guy on tgr who lives in vegas and posts some sweet backcountry stuff.
see here: http://www.tetongravity.com/forums/show ... rn-NV-2011

and a viddy by this guy. check his other vids, the terrain looks pretty decent, some nice tree runs here.

if i were as anxious as you, vegas is real close to sd. personally, if i'm ever driving through vegas with my gear i'm stopping in for a tour. and a quick check of the ski areas snow report says 46" storm total.
