Sweet man, didnt realise you lived in fairplay, I drive rite through there all the time to go to the resorts. My parents have a place outside of Alma, wish I was there not here at school.

The good thing is it gets us excited about winter. It definately signifies a change. And, if we get enough snow, we can sneak in a few runs.
The bummer is once you have snow on the ground that is not going to melt away soon, it has a good chance of rotting out (faceting) and can become a persistant weak layer throughout the year.
For those in areas who have significant amounts already, lets hope it keeps snowing. Additional snow falls are a good thing to slow the rotting process. If not, pay attention to what happens to our first layer - already on the ground.
Most savy backcountry riders consider this to be a bit early for significant snow in many areas.
