Wow, never even heard of most of that stuff mentioned, and the stuff I have I wish I never did. Always been amused how taste in music can vary so much in people that otherwise have so much in common. Or is it that earning pow turns is out only common bond? My rotation lately has included El-P, Killer Mike, Macklemore, Gary Clark Jr., K'Naan, the new Public Enemy album, and Slaughterhouse. I guess I just like beats to keep me going on the skintrack?

bad brains, minor threat, TSOL, operation ivy, the specials, 7 seconds, no fx, suicidal tendencies, old metallica, wolfmother are some. Then I switch pace and rock jedi mind tricks, beastie boys, visionaries, hieroglyphics, living legends, dialated peoples, wu tang, are some hip hop then I'll switch pace again and listen to RJD2, dj shadow, dan the automator, cut chemist, dj hype, katalyst, mix master mike, bassnectar.
These are just a few. Kinda depends on what mood I'm in.
I am going to throw this opinion out there, while it may be unpopular. A backcountry partner that shows up with music+headphones is a 'red flag' in my book. Music is a distraction, and can inhibit good communication and hinder snowpack observations while on the ascent. If you want to rock tunes, my opinion is to keep it in-bounds while turning lift-served laps. Obviously solo missions would be an exception. I am not slamming anyone for opting for some backcountry tunes, I just prefer one leave it at home.

I agree, the only time I break out the Ipod is for hot laps on the chairlift.

+1. I'm just bummed that Swollen can't come to the states as a full group now. I used to go to a Swollen show to start EVERY ski season and it got me stoked.

+1 in certain situations. In the trees in low consequence terrain, sure thing. Once we get up into the alpine, take em out.
I don't think my dad loves any music. I'm the complete opposite in that way but we still have lots in common.
Agreed there's a time not to be headphoned. Most of my listening is on the drive. I definitely want to listen to my partners and the snowpack as appropriate.
Excellent track, deathrowplankwalker. Sneaky as he gonna be.
