Hey gear heads! This is a new product out on the market. Its a facemask that warms the air and humidifies it when you breath in. It makes your lungs perform more efficiently in cold temperatures. No more freezing your lungs in the backcountry cold temps. Its actually called cold weather induced asthma. Anyways, heres the link to their website. www.talusoutdoor.com
Im thinking about getting one. Does anyone have one? I know Backpacker did a gear review on it but I was just wondering what you guys thought?
I tried the Psolar brand and found that it had an odd odor when inhaling. I couldn't stand the smell and taste that it created. It did do what it claimed and warmed the air when inhaling. The technology comes from the HVAC industry. The filtering material traps heat from exhaling and releases it when inhaling. Quite innovative!

I dont know, Im gonna check one out, ill be going by a retailer over the holidays. Ill let you know what I think.

These masks are amazing! Theres a few different models but I went with the pro which is just the facemask with windproof fleece. The expedition is the whole balaclava. Their website says you can get them at www.backcountryfreeskier.com but they arent actually on the website just in the store BUT you can call them and they can hook you up over the phone with any of the models. They said their working on getting them on the website but its super busy in the shop right now. These masks are made in Montana and have a lifetime warrenty. sweet.
