I am looking for a new pack for overnite trips. I need a pack that is 50-60 litres, that will carry well when loaded down on the approach, and that will then strip down to become a lighter day pack. I am thinking CiloGear Work 60, and Osprey Variant 52. Either of these packs can easily carry a split a-frame, and can have straps easily added to carry a board in ride mode on the front of the pack body. Both packs weigh around 4 lbs. without stripping, and feature tool attachments and apparently decent suspensions. Anyone have any hands on experience with either of these packs? The Variant at $200.00 list appears to be a reasonable deal as well. Wish I could afford a trick Dyneema CiloGear!
