Btw... IMHO you'd be better off with Arc'Teryx's new Arrakis 65 vs the Khamsin... it's better designed for backcountry snowsports & carrying your board.

For quick trips 1-3 nights with a good weather forecast:
Pack: Osprey Variant 52, big enough for everything, but not too big, carries split A-frame, still need to rig an option for board mode carry Tent: Black Diamond Lighthouse, with optional vestibule: a superlight tent for two tall folks, and actually has withstood nuking winds Stove: MSR Reactor, MSRs answer for the JetBoil, the Reactor is an incredible stove Bag: Marmot Helium, superlight 15 degree with ample shoulder room, for colder conditions I have an older Marmot -5 bag that is much heavier
Longer trips, expeditions:
Pack: same as above Tent: used to be North Face Mountain 25, if I go on another expedition, I would probably go with something from the Hilleberg line. Stove: MSR XGK Bag: The Marmot -5 bag, unless its AK, then I will break out the North face Solar Flare (-15)
Most of my camping is now late winter through spring quick trips now, so I am focused on lightweight gear for relatively good weather. I think I have gotten over the attraction of sitting out four day long storms in a tent, but you never know-there is always the allure of snowboarding Mt. Hunter...

Hey neilprovo, that golite utopia looks pretty good. Looks like you are using the 4-person model. Do you think the 2-person model is too tight a fit for 2-people plus winter gear? Also, do you think it would work as a dedicated cooking tent?
