Before long it will be time to retire my split for the summer. :( My splitboard has taken more abuse this season than any other board i have ever owned. I am realizing now that i need to pay more attention to it so i can keep it in good shape. I left it sitting outside on my balcony for several weeks and have now developed rust on some of the edges. Before I put it away for the summer I plan on cleaning the rust off, cleaning the base with a wax remover, rewaxing the board, and coating the edges with wax to prevent further rusting. Does anyone have any other tips or suggestions?

Jim Daddy, sounds like a good plan for rust removal, base cleaning, rewaxing and edge waxing to seal out the elements. I would only recommend the following things that I normally do as I retire boards for the summer. I remove the bindings, clean the deck and blow all the inserts clean. I then take some available oil lube and rub it onto the edges and q-tip some into the inserts. After applying the new wax liberally I don't scrape it at all, I leave it all on there. I also put each board back into a bag, the plastic ones that they come in that have some vent holes are normally what I use. Then I put them into my wall rack base to base without anything placed on top of them to affect the camber. This process is a full weekend project normally as between my wife and I, and now two preschoolers learning, we have accumulated a bunch of boards...and now several of mine are splitters with extra edges and parts.
