If i were looking for what you described.....

http://www.cilogear.com/60lws.html

Coupled this with this:

http://www.cilogear.com/shovelpocket.html

Cilo makes the lightest, most durable, badass packs made right now. Check the website for details (cilogear.com). The shovel pocket is an evolution of the "pouch" which carries a snowboard like a dream.

This will outlast any one of the packs mentioned so far in this forum and without a doubt will be significantly lighter!

I just bought the Cilo Gear 45L pack and shovel pocket on Friday and got two days out with it over the weekend. I posted in the other pack thread too but the short version of it is that i couldn't be happier.

For day trips, Arcteryx Silo 30. For overnights, Black Diamond Mission 75. Neither are cheap, but both are solid, reliable gear: bomber, functional, minimalist and ideal for their respective jobs.
