Thanks for all the input gang. I mostly was into the Osprey and Marmot gear b/c I can pro deal them. I got a switch from a buddy on lend for a few weeks to try out. Gonna see how that goes. Still into the Marmot, La Meije but gotta go see if my shovel fits in nicely.....

Marmot (or the company that owns it, K2 maybe?) bought Dana Designs and now you can see the familiar Dana packs with a marmot logo. I don't know if they still make the bomb or not, but I know people who use it and love it.

Like somebody else said, I like the old Arcteryx M30. Roll top is shweet, board carry system can't be beat, carries vert and horizontal. Only complaint is incompatability with hydration hose. I solve this by tucking a small bladder under the shovel blade in that small pocket and refilling it once in a while from a bottle.

Unfortunately not since fall 2006 it appears. The shovit pocket on the marmot model also does not appear to work as a beavertail carrying system like the older Dana's.
