I just picked up a vario 40, and I'm curious how people are carrying their poles for the downhill on the Vario packs. The shop had a display with the bags inflated, and it seemed tricky to come up with an easy system that you could be 100% certain the poles wouldn't pop the air bags in an avalanche. With the 40l i could keep the tips facing up and under the lid pouch, but how do i protect the inside of the lid? How do you do it with the 25l, with no lid?
