I know it has been done but what are you all using for extended car/truck based trips?

I have a Ford Ranger with a shell on the back. I use the front car window reflectors to block out the side windows. I sleep on 2 side by side sleeping pads with a feather bed on top of that, i don't like the raised bed, because then you can't sit up!

I have a roof rack for the snowboards, and I used to have a Thule box, but got rid of it.
