So.. got my hands on next year's Giro goggle, possibly called the Onset. My retail manager asked me to give em a spin this weekend to see what I thought. Haven't used em yet but I have some thoughts at first glance.
If you have a big face and/or like peripheral vision, these are for you. I have a big head and these fit great. Too many goggles out there built for people with a head the size of a 15 year old, these are not them. Excellent peripheral vision..similar to my VZ Feenom.
Speaking of peripheral, Giro had a display pushing light through various brands to emphasize the amount they had and according to Giro, they have more than VZ's Fishbowl.
Rubber strips inside the strap... how the fuck does VZ try and charge $160 for goggles and not put 11 cents worth of rubber on the inside of the strap? Giro has it on these, huge plus if you're a helmet wearer.
Spherical lense...nuf sed.
Will ride em this weekend and see how they perform.

Nice to know there will be another option for those of us with a giant melon. The only way to buy Feenoms is on sale.
WOW! used these this weekend. Powder day, Sunday, sweating my ass off, I could not fog these if I tried.
I accidentally coughed in them on my second spin up the lift and I saw the fog freeze instantly. I thought, 'shit.' Put em on when I got off the lift, 20 turns later those things were crystal clear.
As I said, powder day, lots of work, lots of sweating...no fog, did I mention they really didn't fog. If there is one thing I am good at, it's getting goggles foggy, not these.
Real good clarity with minimal distortion (spherical lense) and minimal reflection on the inside of the goggle. Transitioning from flat to bright light in the trees was challenging late in the day, but short of a flat light lense, what can you do.
They take a beating pretty good too. I caught a branch the size of my forearm across the face, rung my bell for sure, loosened a tooth maybe. The goggles? couldn't have looked better!
