After having to deploy ice axe on a few sketchy traverses recently its time to upgrade to some crampons. As I understand it the Voile crampons require you to actually remove the binding from the board - not ideal if your already on icy ground.
Spark's Mr CHomps look like they can slide under the pins with the binding still on and attached to your boot. .. so my question is, can I use Mr CHomps with my Voile light rail bindings? As they mount to the pin, which should be the same diameter on both bindings, I can't see why not. Has anyone tried this or know whether or not it should work?
The Voile bindings (& plates) mount/line-up to the inside of the touring bracket, where as the Sparks collar the outside of the brackets, and the Mr. Chomps take up the entire inside length of the touring bracket. Not to mention the Pin Guide on the Voile touring bracket wont allow the Mr. Chomps.
Let me know if this makes sense, i may have pics to show you better.
