Not sure if it matters for the life span of your skins or not, but I use those Volie cheat sheets mesh things when I go out to the backcountry, and when I store them overnight or whatever. Makes it pretty easy. I think if you even just used a thin strip of the cheat sheet mesh stuff, it would make it alot easier to pull apart. KInd of annoying to bring more stuff into the BC, but it really takes zero space.

So I used this method on the weekend, it is definitely a LOT faster, but I did see a few hairs from the bottom of my skins on the glue. Not anything significant.
I think when using this method, it's probably best to not let them warm up.

I have well over 100 days on two sets of skins using the rolling method. no problem. Fold the skins at the end of the day otherwise I always roll them. If your skins are brand new you might get some fibers in them so if it's a concern peel them apart a few times before rolling. And if you get some fibers stuck in the glue so what? That just makes them easier to work with. I have 5" long strips of glue missing and rarely have skin problems. So I don't buy the "fibers in my glue ruined my skins" story. Two tips -make sure any snow or excess moisture is removed from plush before rolling -you don't have to roll super tight I roll them verly loosely and then smash into my pack and it works great. If you are having skin problems get a brown paper bag or parchment paper and iron your old glue it will give new life to old glopped up glue and is way easier and cheaper than a full reglue.
Disclaimer- if you fuck your skins up by rolling them don't blame me.
Unfortunately it doesn't help for when I have to separate them when I arrive at the trailhead.
You could skin up before you leave the house? Easier to separate when they're that wee bit warmer.
For some reason, mine seem more difficult and tacky when they are warm. I think I'll try to recondition them with the parchment paper as wasatch surf recommended.
