We are going to split a Burton Custom X, about 6-7 years old. Can't find a lot of tech info. Anybody know if it has a wood core? I think the later models did but can't find info on the earliest models (I think the custom X first came out in 2004).
You were right about the inserts; hadn't anticipated those. Otherwise the cut went smooth (brand new carbide blade). The cuts through the metal inserts (4 of them) included sparks and foul smoke. Wheeee!!
I will say Voile instructions were really skimpy. Any of you attempting a first cut should watch the videos on youtube first. If we had depended on instructions alone we would have been stuck. Diagrams were poor or missing, and there were parts in the box that were not identified or included in the directions. Once done though, the kit is pretty slick.
