I've got a Salomon Burner I want to split but the core has strategically placed foam areas(they are all probably wrapped in carbon), do you guys think this will affect the splitting process? I assume they run vertically tip to tail where ever they are, but Salomon is pretty uninformative about their technology so I can't be sure.

Ive cut a K2 that had some kind of foam/ceramic area in the center part of the boards core. Anyway the board came out good. When you seal the inner edge Clean the area well and try to blow all the dust out of the honeycomb area. Heat up the epoxy with a hairdryer and drip it into the honeycomb areas of the inside edge. The K2 only had about 4 inches of this honeycomb area and the rest was wood. Hope this helps

Don't Do It...

In addition to they lack of bonding between materials, the wood is what your t-nuts need to be secured. Carbon is also kinda schetchy, as it will release and rebound as a material. Think of a tightly woven sheet that is cut.
