does anyone have any good tips for how to fix the rivets for tip clips? my local ski shop was able to drill some holes for me, but they didn't have a rivet gun. who typically has that sort of thing?

Mounting new parts or replacing damaged parts?
If you're about to mount the rivets from a DIY split-kit it's easy to do.
Just did it this weekend. My experience:
* Make sure you have a good level support under the rivet so it will not bend. * Use the slider-track pin to flare the rivet, but only a few strokes otherwise the rivet will crack along the edge. * Finish with a flat hammer. I uses one on top of another.

i'm replacing my clips and rivets
is there another way to remove the old rivets other than drilling out and making sure not to expand the hole.
it was easy to drill out on the jones board but on the prior, the rivet is set and bent back real well. Don't want to push it through the hole when drillin', naw mean.
It's actually quite easy: just get a bit that's a little larger than the rivet shaft and carefully drill off the part of the it that's been peened over. Make sure that you have solid support under the head of the rivet. Once you drill that off, you can simply push the body of the rivet out of the hole with a punch or blunt nail. You definitely don't need or want to drill out the entire rivet. The rivets on the Jones boards have often had the peened-over part base-ground off, which makes them easy to remove, but also easy to fail.
