Hi everyone, I'm about to start making my first splitboard using the Voile Split Kit and I have some questions:

Once the board is cut, it says "file the petex edge at a 45 degree bevel". If I bevel the petex edge (is it like this ___/ \___?), the board is gonna weak in the middle... Can you explain it to me or can you show me a picture?

And my other question, I want to split my brand new Atomic Radon Swallowtail: Image

And I was looking at other swallowtail splitboards and they don't seams to have the tail clip...should I install it anyway to make the board more tight and solid? (because the V of the swallowtail is not that long as you can see in the picture..)

Thanks in advance!

You'll want to file the edges so the sharp edge is at the base (so there's no gap in the middle of the base when you clamp the halves together.
For the clip on the tail you should place it at the bottom of the "V" where the halves meet up.

sweet stick!

like m-dog says, sand/file a small bevel from the base to the topsheet, so the base closes up tight. This will also allow plenty of room for whichever sidewall sealing method you are using.

no need for the tail clip - just chinese hooks for the tail
