I bought a split off this site over the summer. its getting to be about that time now to break it out and get it all ready. i got the board and bindings all set. My only question left is skin care. The skins are folded in half so the sticky sides are stuck together. then they were rolled up and put into the storage bag. my question is, is this proper storage? there is mesh in the storage bag in the bottom. the mesh is cut to the same shape as the skins. what are these for. they are sticky so some of the glue is on them. i assume when i am going to use the skins i just peel them off themselves and stick them to the bottom of the board and lock the front and rear in? let me know if this is right and what the mesh is for

They're called "cheat sheets" by black diamond... or "skin savers" somewhere else... They are used to store the skins so that clue isn't stuck on clue. Don't worry... I'm sure you can peel them off... I would try and pry them apart and lay them flat and use "cheat sheets" between the skins... Try and remove the folding line that must have appeared true summer... It would help... If the glue comes off from the skin, i would just get new skins... Lot easier then removing the old glue and try to install new glue... Too much trouble for me at least!

Good luck!

After a few trips, if your anything like me and the other lazy fackers around here, you'll toss that storage bag and cheat sheets and just hang or store your skins folded with the sticky sides together. If possible, store them without folding them again to prevent the skin from creasing at the fold and eventually not sticking at that spot.

Personally, I think storage temperature is the most critical part of skin upkeep. Not too cold and not too hot or they just don't work right. Oh yeah, one more thing, always dry them out at the end of the day. Starting the next trip with wet skins is demoralizing.
