Well, the original Dynafit patent expired recently, so I guess it's game-on for other manufacturers. I've been interested in the hardboot setups people have been doing, and the ones with dynafit toe-pieces seem quite nice as far as weight goes. If that's your bag, this company appears to be selling toe and heel pieces separately:
Just wish I'd heard of these guys while I still had a job that took me to Modena... I could've picked some up. Dunno if they have a distributor in the US...

Where in the world are you getting this info from that site? hMaybe ive lost it, but i cant find anything about toe peices, heel peices, or them selling anything....help?

That sucks. It worked fine for me... Dynafit does not, as far as I know, sell separates, but I've never been an AT skier, so I have to admit I haven't researched it that much. bigger stores might have repair stock you could buy from...

Thanks for the info... Now I'm jonesing to try a very, very big project... Maybe next year if I have some cash for new hard boots I'll build the ultimate sb mountaineering setup...
