Quick question:
Here is a weights comparison : ..........Burton conv. Voile.........Custom w/Dynafit/Voile
................................................................... Gr / lb:oz ......................Gr / lb:oz
Complete board in skinning mode............6570 / 14:7.8 .............. 3846 / 8:7.5
For the board in skinning mode, does this mean you have the bindings for the hardboot setup in your backpack at this point? I know it's good to move the weight from your feet to your back, but just wondering how much "weight" that is...
NK:
Yes, 3846 gr. is the weight of the board without the slider tracks and bindings. A pair of s.t. with pins and Voile plate bindings weights ab. 1032 gr. : this is the weight that you add to the b.pack.
The total net weight that I've taken away from my feet while I'm skinning, shifting from a soft Burton/Voile to an hard Custom/Dynafit/Voile is:
Board : ........................................................ - 2730 gr.
Difference between hard and soft boots ...... + 672 gr.
Skins and crampons, almost no difference .....+ 10 gr.
Total ............................................................. – 2048 gr.
If you are already using hard boots, suitable to Dynafit, the weight that you eliminate from your feet is:
S.T. and bindings. .................................................... - 1032 gr.
Diff. betw. Dynafit toeclip and Voile touring bkt ...... + 184 gr (148 – 56 )x 2
Total ......................................................................... - 848 gr.
Nice job on weighing everthing.. that rules! The mods are great, too. I really like the aftermarket crampon for the Burton. Too bad it doesn't work with the climbing wires up.
