This topic is of great interest to me as even though I am new to the sport, having split my own board and also own a Mojo, the system to me has issues and the board designs seem limited. And reading this is a little bit of a dissapointment to think that this design will attempt to rule and put restrictions on the advancement of the products we use for years to come.
I tried to read the patent. Most of that is Greek to me though. Can a split be sold as "skis" with convenient hardware placement? Or why couldn't someone be hired as a craftsman to construct a custom touring tool for their client using materials that can be purchased on the open market. If you buy the kit how can they restrict what you do with it?(for you custom bulder guys)
I for one would love to see the sports product evolve and not be restricted by one design that does have nice elements but is nowhere close to being perfected...
