So my skins are missing...stolen, lost, conspiring with my socks that are also MIA....whatever ya wanna call it, they are gone and im leaving 2morrow for a trip.

NOW, there is a CHANCE that a Shop on the way will have a pair of tractor skins, but in the event that they do not what are my options. I NEED SKINS!

I thought, i could get pretty much any pair of 130mmm width skins...Black Diamond or G3? I wouldnt bother with the clip-fix skins obviously, but the G3 and BD both have the nice tail-clip kits that have been talked about here.

NOW, is there anything i should look out for IF i have to go this route? I know i wont have the nice riveted/angle tip clip of the tractor skin, but i see no reason why i couldnt just cut it and ricvet it that way myself....

Also, the BD Glidelite skins seem a little lighter? Is this the case and if so is it worth it?

Got the BD Glidelite skins on my Burton S... They're simply amazing.

Go for it.

I'd choose them over the tractors anyways. Lighter, more compact in the bag and glide better.

And the glue sticks very well, too (nearly too well, damn are these things hard to pull apart).

I've got the BD's with the tailcliptipthingy. I just had the dudes at the shop file a little rivet in the tail end of my board for a six pack. The clips fit perfectly in it and I've never had a problem. I dont know how but maybe BCR could post a pic of the set up for me to show ya. Regardless, the tip clip rivet works and the BD's kick asses

So i found a pair of 130mm BD Ascension STS skins availible on the way. Id love to see this mod as im gonna have to figure out how to attach the tail. BCD did a similar thing but just flat-out drilled a hole in his board and seemed to look good.

Thanks for postin em. I dont think the integrity of the board will be affected much, if at all. I've used it a shit ton of times since I got it set up and haven't had any problems with it so far. Plus it's a tough as hell neversummer board. Doesn't show any signs of delaminating. Plus, it's a backcountry board, I dont mind the wear-n-tear. I was kinda in the same situation. All the shop had left was the BD sts's and I needed a way to set it up securely so I could ride asap. It was a quick fix but I've grown to really like it.

Of course there's other options to. I've heard of people takin small cordolette or whatever and juryriggin a loop to kinda snare the voile pucks or rectangular baseplate on your deck. I like my option better though

Im just worried about screwing up the edges.....not sure what im gonna do, but im getting those skins and will figure somthing out. I really do like the way you did it Flow. Nice and smooth, although BCD's hole would take about 5 minutes to do.....

I wouldn't worry about the edge. There are tons of boards out there these days that don't even have wrap-around edges. You might want to epoxy the cut though.
